Talking by phone from New York last week before his appearance on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert,” the 41-year-old singer explained how making this album helped him lick those wounds. Many of the new songs were written in the aftermath of divorce and the sudden death in 2018 of a close friend, Night Sweats producer Richard Swift. The red masking tape is explained as something that blocks out the spectrum of light that the creatures need to exist on. There is an explanation for everything – that a hacker broke into a super-broadband project and accidentally unleashed creatures that exist on another dimensional plane, which have become akin to a virus spreading across communications networks and sucking out people’s will to live. The other surprise is that Wes Craven remains very faithful to the elements of the Japanese original at the same time as he knits Kiyoshi Kurosawa’s plot dead ends together into something that makes surprising sense. The Japanese original recast with standard twentysomething faces – Kristen Bell, Ian Somerhalder The surprise comes in seeing the name of Wes Craven, who was apparently assigned to direct Pulse at one point, on the script. The heavy disappointment is that the original has been reworked for the modern teen horror market and recast with pretty young leads in their five minutes in the spotlight. There is both a surprise and a sinking disappointment that comes as one sits down to watch Pulse 2006. The fact that Hollywood has chosen to remake such a baffling film surely says something about how far producers are willing to scour for merchandisable properties in order exploit a fad. To its credit, Kiyoshi Kurosawa’s films always come with an intensely haunted atmosphere that makes them highly watchable. Pulse, for instance, threw up a host of elements – ghosts, the dead turning up on the internet, people being driven to commit suicide en masse, the red tape, the social apocalypse at the end – but seemed to hold the idea of any explanation for what was happening in total disdain. Kurosawa perpetually defies any sense that a film should have a clearcut explanation for what is happening and his films invariably disintegrate into a series of loose and unresolved plot strands. All of these are cryptic and wilfully obscure. Kurosawa has made films such as Cure (1997), Seance (2000), Loft (2005) and Retribution (2006), among others. The problem with this is Kiyoshi Kurosawa as a filmmaker. Kiyoshi Kurosawa’s Pulse is a baffling choice for a Hollywood remake. In this case, Pulse is a remake of Kiyoshi Kurosawa’s Pulse (2001). Ever since the enormous success of The Ring (2002), the English-language remake of the Japanese horror film Ring (1998), Hollywood has been scouring Asian horror for properties to remake. ![]() ![]() ![]() Int/float: using float triggers the issue from frame to frame even with NEAREST LINEAR/NEAREST - There's something definitely wrong if I use LINEAR, the problem I described tenfolds My experience, antialias: true/false makes no visible or observable difference, I even suspect it's always on, I check the drawn stuff with a loupe and can't detect any changeĢx entities / 2x map / 2x stage(?), doesn't make a difference, no matter where the scale comes from, they are rendered the same, same issues Here is antialias, 2x scaled map, LINEAR, antialias: true, float There are tools out there that can help you, such as Shoebox. Here is no antialias, 2x scaled map, NEAREST, antialias: false, int But tools-recommendation questions aren't appropriate here, so instead I'll describe a basic process you could use to do this yourself. ![]() Since the sprites in the sheet are regular (that is, they're all the same size) you can pretty easily write a program that produce a set of rectangle data in JSON based on the size of the image. You only need to give this program the image file name, the desired tile size, and the output file name. Load the image file, get the width and height.Generate a set of tiled rectangles, starting with (0, 0, tileWidth, tileHeight), by dividing the width and height accordingly.Generate a placeholder name for each tile, such as tile00 through tile24 or whatever.Write all that information to the output JSON file. You can then open the file up and alter the placeholder names to match what you actually see on the sprite sheet for that section. Perform a simple check on the contents of the sprite sheet in every rectangle to see if the rectangle is empty. You could aid yourself in this process by adding the following features to your program: No matter you're going to be naming the tiles yourself. Write out a separate copy of the image where you've rendered a grid (in some easily visible color, like hot pink) over each tile and annotated each tile with the number used in the placeholder name.If so, that space can be considered empty and you can avoid generating the name or bounds information in the output. Those warnings result in PNG files with the Logo of TexturePacker. This will help you more easily match up the placeholder name with the image and help you produce better names quicker. TexturePacker:: warning: You are using TexturePacker in Essential (lite) mode. In the case where you want to consider some sprites to be larger than the otherwise-mostly-regular ones (for example, the two larger trees in your example), you can manually adjust the output file to combine the bounds of the individual tiles into a larger tile, deleting the extra entries.TexturePacker:: warning: TexturePacker:: warning: You are using some advanced features which will cause some sprites to TexturePacker:: warning: be colored red in the sprite sheet. You can write this tool in any language, although one with built-in support for all the appropriate operations (opening PNGs, annotating them, simple math primitives like rectangles) would be ideal. C#, for example, would make a good choice and you could probably write such a thing very easily if you didn't want to just use an existing tool, if you needed to build thing into a customized asset pipeline, or if you wanted to provide extra options or UI for interaction (for example, your tool could present the sheet with the grid overlayed and allow you to drag-select rectangular regions of the base tile size that constitute "larger" sprites, like the aforementioned trees, saving you the manual fix-up step). ![]() It's impossible to get away from having to do at least some manual work on the data (in the most general case), but simple tools like the above can help you alleviate the majority of the repetitive grunt work inherent to the process. ![]() ![]() You can make a watermark with your own logo as well.
